The building was constructed in 1912 and has been a hub of commercial growth in the city of Calgary; however, deterioration over the years had taken it’s toll and the building nearly reached its demise in 2004.  The demolition was protested and the building was restored, but not before stirring up the spirit of Sir James Alexander Lougheed…
