Join us on November 22, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM to hear from Superintendent Scott Boyd and Tamara Daku from the Calgary Police Service. Scott and Tamara will be providing an update on public safety, upcoming initiatives, and the strategic vision for the downtown and adjacent area for the near future.

Scott Boyd – Superintendent, South Division, Calgary Police Service Superintendent Scott Boyd is a 25-year member and currently leads the Community Policing South Division for the Calgary Police Service. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (#278) in Quantico, VA and holds a Masters of Management & Public Administration. He has enjoyed a diverse career in policing with positions in Patrol, Mountain Bike Unit, Undercover Operations, Criminal Intelligence Section, HR and Training Section, District Commander and Chief’s Executive Officer. He is a certified Restorative Justice Facilitator and has trained and deployed as a Crisis Negotiator. He also served as the Interim Deputy Chief for the Lethbridge Police Service for 4 months in 2021/2022 as part of a Provincial secondment. 
Tamara Daku, C.I.C.A – Analytical Manager Tamara , Calgary Police Service Analytical Manager Tamara Daku is a 23-year civilian member currently managing the Community Policing Analytical Unit for the Calgary Police Service. She is a SCCA certified crime analyst, career member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IAELIA) and the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA), completing a second postgraduate degree, a Masters of Intelligence Studies Management. She has enjoyed a diverse career as a Crime Analyst in the Districts, Drug Section, then joined the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) with assignments to the Calgary Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, Covert Asset Support/Agent Handling Teams, Anti-Corruption, and Green Team South. In 2012, she returned to Calgary Police joining the Bureau of Investigative Support, to lead a team of 24 Crime and Intelligence Analysts in Major Crimes (Homicide, Robbery, Sex Crimes, Child Abuse, Domestic Conflict), Offender Management Section, Economic Crimes, Criminal Intelligence and Organized Crime Sections, Counter Terrorism, Anti-Corruption, and Professional Standards. In 2018, Tamara transitioned to her current management role in the Bureau of Community Policing where she manages a team of 13 crime analysts embedded in eight District stations, supporting multiple front line policing and community crime investigative teams, and new Community Engagement Response Teams.  Ticket cost is $25.00 plus GST for members.
