SMART MOBILITY – The future of our cities and their infrastructure needs.

Rod Schebesch’s presentation will elaborate on key mobility technologies and how each technology will impact both the existing transportation systems and the users of them.

Rod Schebesch's Bio:

Rod has spent his career enhancing mobility—leading Stantec’s Smart Mobility Program to specialize in the implementation of new transportation technology and in understanding how that technology will transform North American transportation networks. With a focus on building smarter cities, Rod is always striving to find greater infrastructure efficiencies that positively impact the built environment. His policy interests focus on the transformative potential autonomous systems hold for improving safety, shrinking environmental impacts, and using existing infrastructure more efficiently. He has led projects involving automated vehicles, transit-ride-share technology, driverless shuttles, and smart cities planning. Currently, he is serving as Stantec’s program manager for ACTIVE-AURORA, Canada’s largest connected-automated-vehicles test bed, leveraging the experience he’s gained to design and construct tomorrow’s intelligent transportation systems today.
